A breakdown of the custom rods Fisch macro toggle — normal rod vs custom rod, how the dropdown works, which rods are currently supported, and what changes when you select a custom rod.
Fisch is split into two rod families. Normal rods are the rods whose fishing minigame is the standard cast → shake → reel loop. Most rods in the game fall into this group, and the custom rods Fisch macro defaults to the normal-rod handler whenever you launch it.
Custom rods are rods that introduce their own minigame mechanic on top of the base loop — extra on-screen prompts, different bar movement, mini-puzzles between casts. They are usually the higher-tier or event rods, and they need rod-specific handling to play correctly. That's where the custom rods Fisch macro option comes in.
On the main dashboard of the Fisch macro UI, the first interactive control is the rod-type selector with two buttons side by side: Normal Rods and Custom Rods. Normal Rods is highlighted by default. Clicking Custom Rods swaps the macro into custom-rod mode and exposes a dropdown right below the selector.
The dropdown lists every custom rod the macro currently supports. Click it, pick the rod you'll be using, and close it. The macro tailors its cast, click, and reel handling specifically to that rod's minigame — extra on-screen clicks for rods that require them, bar-movement adjustments for rods that change the reel, and so on.
Custom rod support is added rod-by-rod as new ones go live in Fisch. Currently the macro supports roughly two custom rods, and we add more on a rolling basis. The full live list is always inside the dropdown itself — if you don't see the rod you want, that means we haven't shipped support for it yet. The changelog is the canonical place to find out when a new rod gets added.
The "best" custom rod depends on the rest of your build. If you're running auto totems for Aurora luck, you'll generally want the highest-tier custom rod the macro supports — that's where rare drops actually convert into rare fish. If you're early game, stick to a supported rod that's available to you and let the auto-fishing loop run; rod tier only matters if you can keep one equipped reliably.
If your rod is not yet listed in the dropdown, switch the toggle back to Normal Rods — the macro will still happily fish with it on the standard handler until custom-rod support lands.
